Bvumbwe against same sex unions
Evangelical Lutheran Church in Malawi (ELCM) says it is the intention of God to ensure that the family He established in the Garden of Eden is protected.
ELCM president and chairperson of Malawi Interfaith Aids Association (MIAA) Dr. Joseph Bvumbwe said recently during the launch of an HIV and Aids campaign in Thyolo that God never meant for women or men to marry own sexes as depicted in creation.
“God did not put men or women in the Garden of Eden, but man and woman (Adam and Eve). It is not proper to advocate for Western cultures of same sex marriages.
“God ordained marriages between men and women so they bear children and as such, we have to please Him by obeying His commandments,” said Bvumbwe.
He also noted that families were exposed to HIV and Aids from lack of information.
“After sensitising the church, we will go to communities to sensitise them so everybody is aware of the deadly pandemic and other issues of relevance and importance,” Bvumbwe.
